This is pretty good.

Open Letter Graphic

1/6/2014 – AN UPDATE ON THE UPDATE – I have been approving 100% of the comments left on this post.  I haven’t hidden a single thing.  I have received exactly FOUR pieces of negative feedback on this open letter, three of which were about my use of profane language.  Due to this, I feel it necessary to issue this warning:  I say ‘fuck’ a lot.  If you don’t like it, take a hike because you’re not going to like what you’re about to read.    Sorry to be a bitch about it but this is MY blog.  That’s like going to someone’s house and ragging at them because of the way they do something in their own home.  Had I posted it on YOUR blog, you’d have the right to complain about it.  Instead, you’re posting the comment just to have something to say.

GOING FORWARD:  WE HAVE ALREADY…

(Stealth thank you to Lindy Moone and Carol Ervin…)

(This here’s a secret, stealth thank you to the sensuous Lindy Moone and sleekly sizzling Carol Ervin for helping me juice up my flaccid blurb. We went at it a long time, but we got there.)

(Hahah, I can’t stop laughing now…)

Ebookdealofday – talk about cool…

So, for my free promotion, I sent my book out to a number of sites, letting them know what days my book would be available for free, and big thanks to those that posted it.  But the big winner goes to “Ebookdealofday” for modifying the cover picture to look like a cool book with a nice background:

Check this out:

Uh, hey–my book’s free!

Move your eyes 3 inches to the right and you’ll see our hero, Dan Jenkins, peeking out from behind a bit of foggy-looking graphics.  Click it and read the sample available on Amazon if you’re curious.

The Story Telling Podcast

When my interview came out, I went to kboards.com and of course told everyone.  I was excited, what can I say?  Author Stacy Claflin posted a link to one of her own–a video interview–and I watched it.  Not only was it a good interview, it had great interviewers.  One day if I grow a backbone (or get drunk enough), maybe I’ll do one.  I do know I’m going to be watching a LOT of these interviews 🙂  In fact, I do believe I’m going to add them to my links.

If you’re curious, have a look:

Happiest boy in the world alert

So the last 7 days have been sort of great.  Quick breakdown:

  1. I have my first ever author interview coming out this week (I’ll post a link to it that day)
  2. I have a brand new cover, which I’ve already gushed about.
  3. Over the weekend an Amazon Top 500, Vine Voice, Hall of Fame reviewer gave me 5 stars and tweeted/google+/facebooked/blogged my book.
  4. Last week, another Vine Voice reviewer positively reviewed me with 4 stars and will be blogging about me late October.
  5. My latest novel is going through its first round of beta reading.

So, it’s official: I’m now the happiest boy in the world.

The new book cover is in!

I like it.  The other one was nice, but I worked on this one with the designer, the wonderful Damonza. It’s percolating over on Amazon now, no idea when it’ll go live.  Move your eyes a few inches to the right, there’s Dan, peeking at you.

Cheers

*update*

As of 1:06pm EST, the cover is on the sales page but isn’t showing up in the “look inside” feature, and doesn’t arrive with the purchase.  I’ll add another update once it’s fixed.

** another update **

Ok, supposedly if you buy a book you’ve bought before, you see the old cover…or something.  ie., people ‘should’ be getting the new cover.  Apparently, the new cover might not appear in the look inside feature for a week.
