I was a little bit floored by this. I like this guy, listen to his wonderful show (The Sell More Books Show), and I’m happy to say he writes very well. Here’s Cohen reading his first chapter from Ted Saves The World on his new youtube series “Bryan Cohen Showen.”
Our favorite movie theater (Regal Fairfax Towne Center in Virginia) just got a major overhaul, and we’re totally loving it. The first good idea a movie theater’s had since the invention of the cup holder: comfortable reclining seats at the push of a button!
My wife last night, relaxing for a showing of “Big Eyes” (wonderful movie):
So there’s a cool podcast I started listening to a couple of months ago, after first hearing about it on Kboards. The reason I like it is because it’s presented by authors like me, talking about the books they love. More than that, they talk about books I’ve actually read before. Authors I admire, like Larry Niven, Patrick Rothfuss, Neil Gaiman, and Jim Butcher, as well as lots of indie authors I’m interested in reading. Because of this show, I’d put “The Martian” on my own personal To Be Read list. So what a joy when I found out today that Patrick Stemp is reading my book. He’s currently 1/4 in and seems to like it — and that’s good enough for me! Haha, I’ll take it. Tune in next week for when he passes judgment on the rest of the book (queue the ominous music).
Special thanks to host Jamie Maltman for having downloaded it and mentioning it to Patrick.
Hearing people talk about your book is probably the greatest thing about being an author, short of buying my own island with robot attack dogs. If you get a chance, why not check out the podcast? They have a backlist of 28 episodes. Why not get started today so you’re caught up for episode 30 next week? 🙂
Witness the acting glory that is Steve Phelan, a mutual fan who read my book back in March. He plays Detective Lane Youmans on Investigation Discovery’s MURDER BOOK: 9pm E/P, 8pm C.
** UPDATE: I just finished watching the episode. What a wonderful performance. This guy has a face for cop roles. He totally nailed the role.
Ok, you’re probably assuming I’m judging this book by its amazing cover (which I totally am). But if you do, you’re basically judging me. And because I noticed you judging me, I’ve basically judged you back. Now we’re all wrapped up in an endless cycle of judging and judging-back and it’s pretty tangled now and freaky like a game of strip Twister and…
So anyway… I picked up The Red King free today. Looks like a good book, and did I mention how cool the cover is?
I’m flattered that my book, Fool’s Ride, was chosen to stand side-by-side with all these great-looking books. Just check all the cool covers. I’m torn between “The Immortality Game” and “Bridge of Seven Stones” for my favorites.
