Sometimes, when I’m walking the Earth and getting in adventures, I come across people in need.
Just the other day, I found a man stuck on a busy highway trying to get his car going. He’d do with the key and it’d turn over like it wanted to start, but it wouldn’t. Then he’d do it again for more of the same. Eventually, the battery died altogether.
Sighing, I leaned down and knocked on the driver’s side window. The man rolled it down.
“Can I help you?” he said, visibly irritated.
“Help me?” I said, with a knowing smirk. “I think you need a little more help than me, am I right?”
The man looked skeptical. “You know how to fix cars?”
“No, but I used to watch Happy Days.”
Then I leaned over the hood, bopped the sweet spot with my fist and said, “Aaaaaaay…”
The car roared to life.
“Wow, thanks mister!” the guy said, and drove away.
Over my goddamned foot.
“Fist” giggle of the day…
(That was a serendipitous typo, so I kept it!)
I don’t think I’ve ever used “serendipitous” before. Crap, I just used it…
You truly are The Fonze… or possibly Potsy
Potsy! Them’s fighting words…
Okay, Ralph then…
You surprise me. Is/was Happy Days a big thing in Ireland?
Oh yeah, I used to watch it all the time. Had a bit of a thing for Joanie
Oh yeah, I used to watch it all the time. Had a bit of a thing for Joanie. Mind you I also fancied Mary from Little House on the Prairie, until she went ‘blind’… it wall down hill after that. You can file me under ‘Saddo’
“down hill after that” – lmfo…
Mary set up the blind school and got married. Laura got hitched, too – to Almonso. The two husbands were the most irritating characters in the show. Then Mr Edwards got married… it was as though ‘marrying fever’ swept Walnut Grove. Things were never the same again. I’m still traumatised, as you can tell.
Hahahaha…! I can’t believe it. All I remember about Little House was it had adults and kids, and an episode with a “money jar” that got stolen. Wow…
At a push I could still tell you what Laura’s bed quilt looked like…and don’t get me started on The Waltons!
(hitting delete on my Waltons question…)
Just as well…
I’d rather be Potsy than ralph. It’s just too messy.
When I was a kid, I always thought Potsie sang so well 🙂 And that Ralph was funny. I didn’t care at all about Richie, the show was about The Fonz and the rest.
I was talking to Dot. I want to go watch the series as an adult, to see if I can get into it (again).
